Description

It is 2502, the United Nation of Earth (UNoE) have stolen New Deimos and Phobos from Mars, and High Command has determined it probable they will come for ours next. This dossier contains your part in The Lunar Covenant which will make sure the UNoE will never threaten Saturn’s territory.

Find a colleague and recruit them to the cause, co-operation is needed
Take up positions as either the pilot or the gunner in the state-of-the-art strike craft
Travel across different sectors of space,
Assist fellow pilots in our defensive mission,
Arrive in Earth’s system,
&
STEAL THE MOON

In Lunar Covenant you must grab a partner and fight against hordes of enemy spaceships whilst trying to take over each system, until you eventually reach and steal the moon. You do this with a specially designed custom controller to immerse the players into the gameplay and make them feel as though they themselves are inside a space craft.

Behind the Scenes

Lunar Covenant was made by a small team of students for our first year team project. I think we did well however many others believe we could have done better, and I don't fully disagree.

When we all first met each other we instantly clicked, forming new friends, hanging out all the time. But because of this we never got a lot of work done. During team discussions we would often drift off and instead talk about random stuff together, instead of actually getting our work done. This lead to a lot of the tasks being put on hold or not finished in time. I feel this was the key to our downfall.

During demo day, a day where we present our game to our lecturers and have them playtest and give us any advice, tips, and info about what we should be focusing on next, we were unable to get the custom controller functioning and ended up spending hours before the session trying to fix it. Eventually lecturers came to check out our project and it still wasn't done. about an hour later we finally fixed it and they could test it out. However it was still malfunctioning.

The point I'm trying to get across is to focus on what your meant to be doing. Don't procrastinate, and make sure no-one is distracting you.
