Who am I?

To start with, my name is Bradley Jones, I live in the UK, and for years now I have loved playing video games.

I was fascinated with the ability to create anything you can possibly think of through making games. Worlds, characters, stories. I thought to myself, I wish I could do that.

So in Highschool I took computer science, learning Python and the math behind it. I quite enjoyed the challenge that came from learning another language. I found that whenever I began coding; hours would go by and I wouldn't even notice it. That's when I first took a liking to Programming.

After Highschool I decided to look into Colleges that offered a good Games Development course. Sure I liked programming so I could just go with Computer Science again, but I wanted to be able to make games myself. And that required a knowledge of how to use different game engines, model, texture, etc.

So here I am learning the knowledge and skills necessary for doing that, in hopes of being able to make great games.

What Can I Do?

I am what people call a Gameplay Programmer, this means that any features you may see in game, such as jumping, opening doors, throwing grenades, crafting systems, are made by me. In college I learnt how to use Unreal Engine's Blueprints to code as it is an easy to use, very powerful tool. I learnt this language to the stage I was entirely confident in my abilities. I also like to extend what programming languages I use however. The likes of C+, C++, Python, are languages I have learnt not to the best standard but to the point of understanding. I would like to further extend my programming capabilities so I will see how it goes.

Artefact

Artefact is a First-Person multiplayer FPS game where you and your friends have a Free for all water gun fight at the beach. The game was first made in 2023 as part of a college project and is also the first game I ever published.  Along with never having any experience with using multiplayer, making this game has taught me a great deal and I can say with confidence that it has helped me grow as a developer.

My plans for this game were a lot bigger than I had managed to produce, main reason being due to problems in the code holding me back. The plan was to have multiple levels, guns, a way of reloading, abilities and to have it Wide Access Network multiplayer. Yes, currently the game is on a Local Access Network which means you can't join a game without being in close proximity to the server host.

While the game is an unfinished product, I am still proud of it and would love to continue development one day.

The Black Rock Tapes

The Black Rock Tapes is a VHS style survival, analog horror, puzzle game where you  play as an MSDR agent and are tasked with uncovering the source of the deadly  "Black Rock"  disease. In the game you are faced with multiple different creatures  that threaten your life, you must avoid them at all costs.

The Black Rock Tapes was inspired by the analog horror YouTube series "Vita Carnis"  which is Latin for "Living Flesh". Vita Carnis showcases creatures that have appeared  out of nowhere that threaten mankind. These videos are in the format of old VHS  government instructional tapes.

The Black Rock Tapes was made as a college assignment and was made by me and  my team "INSERT Studios". This team consists of three people and we have all  worked hard to produce a game we believe will turn out great.

Wait 1,000,000 Seconds
This game was made on a whim to see how people would react to a game like this. I have seen similar games in the past with many downloads and was wondering if the human mind is simple enough to fall for it.
This game is impossible. Quite literally. to wait 1,000,000 seconds is the same as waiting for 12 days straight. Sure I guess you can do it, but it'd be an immense waste of time.

I made it in less than an hour but still had fun making it. I hope people enjoy the subtleness of waiting.
Don't Be Scared of The Factory
Currently in development, don't be scared of the factory is a horror, multiplayer game made by a small team of upcoming developers. The aim of the game is to enter the factory and find bits of scrap, items and clues that may help you to uncover the secrets hidden deep within the factory.
My role in making this game was deputy project leader and programmer. I made sure the rest of the team was doing their jobs and also made many of the gameplay features.
Don't be scared of the factory is a rather large project so we don't know when it will be released but it is currently on steam for you to wishlist.

The Office Job

The office job is a game inspired by "Papers, Please" where you work in an office selling stock to customers via your computer. This game was made by Hangman Studios and was made as a college assignment. Due to lack of experience in team work the game is not made to a great standard and has been cancelled and cannot be downloaded. Apologies for the inconvenience.
